Oddly Specific Question about Speaker System

Hi there.
First off, this is my first post on this forum, I made the account solely to get some clarity on this subject. I probably didn't post this in the right board. I understand it's a mistake. Deal with it, man.
 
This question is geared most towards the fine ladies and gentlemen that work for AVADirect.
 
I went to I/ITSEC in 2013 and 2014, and both times I was:

• Blown away by the amazing rigs on display
• Blown away by the speaker systems used with the rigs

So back to the question,
What speaker system was used at the 2013/2014 I/ITSEC Conference at the AVADirect booth?
 
The community may be able to help me out too, I'll explain what the system did that left the lasting impression.
 
I sat down at the table where the Battlefield 4 game was played on the display rig. The staff for the company turned the volume up on the speakers and it became blastingly loud, in a good way. I thought the whole damn conference was going to hear the hail of gunfire in the center of the Orlando Convention Center.
I stood up and my friend sat down and started playing. I was about 2 meters away from him and the volume of the speakers from my perspective dropped in half, however the volume on the speakers themselves never changed.
The farther away I went from my friend playing Battlefield, the less I could hear the game.
 
I'm not really sure the specific 'term' for this kind of speaker system, the way I'd describe it is Centralized Audio.
 
Allow me to explain what the speakers looked like. These were not gigantic subwoofers, they were about the size of your regular Bose speakers, relatively small, on a stand, one speaker had the knob for the volume and the power button. The speakers were black.
If I remembered the brand name I wouldn't be here talking to you guys right now :)
 
I'm sure we may never know the exact model and brand name, but if someone can direct me to a speaker system that does what I described above, I'd be just as happy.
