Toshiba recently announced that they will be releasing a new line of notebook hard drives that are the highest capacity drives on the market. They will all share the same 5400RPM, 8MB level of cache, and SATA 3Gb/s transfer rate. They also have a new "silent seek" quality that makes the drives one of the most quiet hard disks in a notebook. Newer models will include 750GB, and 1TB of data storage. Finally, those who seek dense storage in a notebook will be able to soak in the idea of carrying around multiple hard disks with an interface, unlike using external hard disk solutions. The only issue that may cause red flags is the platter amounts (2-3 depending on the model) and 2.2W power consumption they require.
