Custom Desktop System - ASPIRE X-Jupiter / Phenom Q9850 / Overclockable Blue Liquid System

Some customers have a vision into what the most beautiful should look like.  They select the options on our website and we start to build it.  We then realize just how awesome a computer some of these systems really are.  This system was chosen and configured by an actual customer and we are displaying it here for your viewing pleasure.

You can click any picture for a bigger view

This is going to be one of the most extreme and different computers that we have covered here in the showroom so far.  This is also the first AMD Phenom system that I have seen go through our company recently.  The customer has created this system for extreme overclocking potential.  He is also entering new and exciting ground as overclocking the Phenom has yet to be done on a widespread basis.  I look forward to see what kind of performance numbers this customer can achieve with this rig.

We start off with the Phenom Q9850 quad-core at an average 2.5 GHz.  We then pair that processor with the DFI 790FX motherboard.  This motherboard is quite different has it has an external radiator to expel heat from the motherboard components.  The only other great thing about this setup is the customer specified liquid cooling.  He specified the exact components he wanted and how he wanted them installed.  As of this moment, there are going to be a total of two radiators connected to the liquid setup.

Here are the complete specs for all of you look over.

Just curious, if you're overclocking why didn't you get the 9950? Theres the 125w model thats supposedly better for overclocking too.

    Pershoot,

Ever since they removed the cold bug from this CPU, people have been OC these CPUs up past 6.0 GHz+.  You have got some catching up to do.  Wink

    Pershoot,

You know, they got some new AMD CPUs coming out very soon.

You now need to upgrade to AM3 and use some DDR3 memories :)

hehe, ya.  nah, won't be going am3/ddr3 anytime soon.  not unless they can do 4g+ at low voltage.  when that happens, ill pop the am3 in this am2+ board and go nuts! ha.

im very pleased with this cpu and board (dfi 790fxb-m2rsh) thus far.  3.82ghz w./ nb+ht at 2.6 is quite a feat!  i could probably take the NB higher, but i dont want to give it more voltage (would fall outside of my comfort zone).

i just looked and this thread has a super high view count (1389!).  this thread might be getting you more orders!  you can mail the royalty check to PO BOX... hehehe (im joking:) ).

maybe we can do a C2Q vs. Phenom II shootout thread.  would make a nice article for the forums me thinks...

I can't wait till somebody makes a block for the g34 socket... 4 way liquid cooling with 48 soon to be 64 cores. Scary fast.

but WOW! This thing looks like a beast, great temps too.I would love to see some of your updated bmarks.
