When I ran in offline mode I shut off windows defender and my anti-virus and firewall. UAC has always been off since I don't like it. The strange thing is now I can play Single player and Multi-player while I am online with Steam. But Zombies will not run with anything I try. And even stranger I tried it with the above things left running and the game runs. Support from Steam Activision and Treyarch are really like talking to a wall, needless to say I gave up getting help from any of them. Whatever was broken fixed itself for the most part starting the game in Steams offline mode. I'm happy to hear you were able to get single-player and multiplayer to work as it should. I know they just rolled out a new update recently, so combined with that and the fixes in your operating system, I think you have them both to thank for this; as well as your dedication to the problem, of course. :-)
 
I have not tried Zombies yet; I finished the campaign and uninstalled it (I've never been much for multiplayer games, too many single player games to finish!) but I will log on and try zombies tonight and let you know if I have any issues.
 
Doing some quick research, however, shows that many people are claiming it has issues with ping and connecting to the server. Try opening a port in your wireless router (assuming you have one connected) as opening ports has been known to fix issues with connectivity, in the past.

I have finished the single player mode. I may try zombies or multi-player again. I will leave all game modes on my storage drive for now. I am thinking about Crysis 3 and Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 next they both run off the cry engine and I want to see how those run on my computer. This was the first COD I played and was not really impressed with it's story line or game play. Plus the headaches of getting it to run. Yes I have a wireless router I am directly connected to it with a cable though. I don't know if I want to play zombies bad enough to open ports for it. I also want to thank you for your support and insight.

Hello JVC,


I must agree with you; the gameplay in Call Of Duty: Black Ops II was great, but the storyline was lacking; kinda felt the same way about Black Ops, when I started to get into it...I think the last, best Call of Duty title was two. After that, they all just feel like the same game.

I've heard great things about Ghost Warrior 2, so I was thinking of giving that a shot. I attempted to play Crysis 3; my system chocked on low frame rates, made me sad, so I decided to wait on playing it for a while...most likely until I impulse buy a better graphics card, that I didn't need in the first place, because I've become a graphics snob, sadly. :-/

I wouldn't be too worried about zombies, either. From what I remember, the original was amazing enough to leave a lasting impression.

Hey, don't mention it! Fellow gamers have to help each other out, you know, with the whole "dying PC Gaming" period going on...heh, makes me laugh. I don't think PC gaming will ever die, especially because it evolves to quickly for a market that requires quick changes and vast improvements.
