Titanfall 2

It’s no surprise that the continuation of the smash hit original is back and it’s on this year’s hot list for games. The second game features a campaign mode that the first didn’t have. You befriend your very own titan, working together throughout some of the campaign and building a unique bond between human and machine. The sequel also has 6 new classes of titans that your gamer is sure to find a favorite from.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Everyone has a favorite game series, and for many, it’s Call of Duty. Their latest installment was released November 4, and takes the game to a whole new level. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is set in space. That’s right – Space. This CoD experience is unlike any other, and to top it off, you are no longer the new guy on the squad. In fact, in this CoD, you are the captain of your space ship, battling rebel groups to rescue other ships from Earth. You no longer have to follow the rules, you make them. The game is designed around themes from Black Hawk Down and Saving Private Ryan, and is a must have for all Call of Duty lovers.

Mafia 3

This open-world favorite is back in a whole new setting. Mafia meets New Orleans in 1968. You play as a Vietnam veteran affiliated with an organized crime family, and battling the Italian mafia. With the brand new setting for Mafia fans, this game creates a whole new open world experience. The developers have even achieved a new level of cohesion between the open world and the story line, making sure that every move pushes you forward in the game.

Gears of War 4

The new Gears of War makes this year’s hot list because it strikes the balance between familiarity and newness. The developers made this game based on the core principles of the Gears games. It is set 25 years after Gears of War 3, and features new weapons that everyone will love. It is a continuation of the best cover-based shooting game and is a sure fire success under the tree this year.

Dishonored 2

The game developers have created a sequel to the Dishonored franchise. It takes place 15 years after the first game, and the storyline picks up right where the first left off. New with this game is the ability to play as either Emily Kaldwin, former empire princess, or as Corvo Attano. The storyline is about these two assassins as they try to gain Emily’s rightful place as Empress from a usurper in the Empire. Give your gamer the ability to uncover this mysterious game this season.

Civilization VI

This strategy based game is perfect for gamers who like to plan and plot their way to win. It is much improved from Civ 5 and has a whole crew of new features. Research faster, become a diplomat for your empire, and discover where your empire will take you in this real-time based strategy game.

Battlefield 1

The Battlefield franchise has taken on a new vantage point for the 15th installment in the franchise. This first person shooter game welcomes you to the beginning of WWI that rivals all of the Call of Duty games. It offers a 64 multi-player option as well as a campaign through all four years of WWI. The weapons are time realistic, but also offer some cool new technology special to the game. If your gamer is tired of playing Modern Warfare or is itching to try something new, this game is perfect for him or her.

South Park: The Fracture but Whole

This game is perfect for all South Park fans, big and small. This game continues the plot of the first game, “The Stick of Truth” and takes on a new gaming element. As The New Kid, you can play as either gender and choose from 12 different superhero classes. Cartman has a falling out with some of the other group members, and the group is splinters, starting a civil war. This game is stuffed with all of the beloved South Park humor that fans know and love, making it an interesting choice for this year’s holiday season.
