I love the high resolution on the 1920x1200 screen of my D900F. I wonder, is there any way to use this screen as an external monitor to display video from external sources?
What port would I use? I noticed that the HDMI and DVI ports are both out and not in... Thanks! |

Hey spcspcus,
I know, i love those extra 120 pixels too. Unfortunately, the D900F and most other notebooks don't have any traditional video inputs HDMI,DVI or otherwise... :( If your unit came with a tv tuner you may be able to find a software solution if you can port your source to a coaxial cable, but I'm not entirely sure if thats feasible. Hope this Helps, Griffin Edited by Griffin Ralston - 06 Oct 2010 at 12:00pm |

Thanks for your quick and helpful reply.
As it happens my video source does have a coax video out port even though it is not a TV, so your suggestion could possibly work. Do you know, is the TV tuner an internal component or an external peripheral? Thanks, Steve |

My D900F has a coax input port labeled "CATV" which means cable TV I think. If I get an external USB TV tuner and plug that into my USB port, then do I plug the coax cable from my external video source into the coax port on the D900F or do I plug the coax cable from the external video source into the external TV tuner box?
