Laptop for Astronomy - need advice!

I would appreciate any input as to configuring a possible laptop system for use exclusively with control of astronomy equipment. This would include simultaneous control of the mount (ie, speed, and pointing), photo capture, and mount guiding. The machine needs to be fast, but not necessarially the fastest possible. Of more importance is that it have a very fast HD (7200) as one of the cameras will use a GigE connection and runs up to 100fps.
 
What I want is:
 
1. 3 or 4 USB 2 ports (most of my existing equipment uses USB2)
2. At least 1 USB 3 port (new cameras will use USB3)
3. GigE
4. Express card slot (or Firewire 800) (next camera will use Firewire 800, powered)
5. 1080 vertical resolution (15.6" screen is ok)
6. 8 Gig Ram
7. controllable back lighting in keyboard
 
I was looking at the Alienware M15X. Close, but no USB3 and I'm a little scared by some user reviews I've read.
Also wonderuing if AVADirect will ship to Australia...

    My brother has a quote for a gaming laptop from AVA Direct.   All that I have read indicates it can't be shipped to Australia.   He has asked me to address this question on this forum for him.   Are you able to provide any other options in order to proceed with a purchase?
     
    His quote is below, however he advised he will be asking to make some modifications.

    We are currently unable to ship to Australia, but you can place the order with me for “store pick-up” and I will contact you once your order is ready to ship. You can then schedule a time for pick up with UPS, FEDEX, or DHL. An alternative solution would be allowing us to ship to a US-based address, and then you can have your package forwarded to you directly.

     

    Also, we cannot accept international credit cards, so payment must be in the form of a wire-transfer. It’s a simple process to do, in which I can assist you with and provide the details needed to proceed with the transaction.
