Hello pdwe,

Looks good; due to the position of all eight DIMM slots, I would go with a closed-loop liquid cooler; something like this: http://www.avadirect.com/product_details_parts.asp?PRID=21401

I was hoping CM came out with a newer version of the scout because with this rig heat might force me another direction. Of course its seems alot of cases are dropping 5 bays.  I want more of a mid tower version vs a huge full tower.

I personally opted for a smaller tower myself; my rig uses the NZXT Vulcan case...now, I regret it simply because I may want to transition into water-cooling, just for the fun of the project, but don't have the internal space to do so. I must say, though many manufacturers are beginning to prefer a mid-tower over a small, they have redesigned many of the internal bays to create more space given the size.

Do these coolers require any monitoring or maintaining?

I'm shooting for a Kepler GTX 690 video card (due out Q3 2012) in this rig. I'm hoping for it to fit and be cool enough to have in a case similar to CM Scout or another 5 front bay case close to the same size?

Hello pdwe,

The SATA to Molex adapter is no big deal, we can obtain that for you.

The new Keplar cards are said to be very cool and energy sufficient, so I don't think you'll have any issues. :-)

Three questions

1. Can you guys get a Lian Li 7FNWX case. Do you think the rig above could handle this case. If I added this top cover

2. Ivy Bridge CPU Kepler or GTX 580

3. Would you stick with CM Scout

Hello pdwe,

Yes, the case appears to be available so we can certainly procure that case for you.

I recommend the Ivy Bridge CPU with Kepler; Nvidia will be shipping a reboot of the 500 series, known as the 600, which should be cheaper, less power consuming, and overall better than the 500 series cards.

I really do like Cooler master for their overall design, but if you plan to change the top-panel of that Lian-Li case that will look amazing.

If the above was your rig Joe which case would you pick

7FNWX Scout or another similar sized case.

Would you be concerned about 64 gb memory in a small case

Sorry to ask alot of questions but, I value you opinion alot and expertise in this area.

Hello pdwe,

Honestly, I've become quite fond of the NZXT cases...I really like this case, because it's simple, and quiet: http://www.avadirect.com/product_details_parts.asp?PRID=20823

I would not be concerned, specifically due to the fact I would not need 64GB of RAM, but if I did I still would have no concerns with the cooling.

You go right ahead and ask away, that's what we're here for!

Hello pdwe,

Okay, so a mid-tower will be more suitable. In that case (no pun intended) stick with your original choice, the CoolerMaster Scout.

Might reconsider this case but, have another question.

1. Since this huge case has 3 5.25 front bays. I'd like to use them

Front Bays

1. Blu Ray Burner
2. Hotswap (Boot)
3. Hotswap (Storage)

Card reader can it be installed somewhere other then a 5.25 front bay.

Hello pdwe,

That's right, we can install the card reader in one of the 3.5 inch bays. The hot-swap will take up at least two 5.25 bays, so that can be mounted below the Bluray Burner.

Might I ask, how often do you use the blu ray burner? When you do, what do you typically burn?
