Hello philip007,
We would be happy to assist you!
Here's what I have in mind:
I selected a Gigabyte board, specifically due to the Texas Instruments chipset, which I know is widely loved by many audio interfaces. All other components listed are based on my own experiences with DAWs and their hardware requirements. Feel free to post any questions you may have, and thank you for visiting AVAForums!

Thanks Joseph for the quick reply !
yes you are correct about the Gigabyte board & Texas Instruments chipset for audio work , but for some reason i do not see a firewire port on this board ? also in my case i dont think that i will need firewire because i will use a usb audio interface . i change some parts in this next build for some better case, board and power Supply and wonder what you think about this change

Hi Joseph
I Call you last week and left you a message and never Heard back from you !!! Anyway I'm thinking of change the build a bit to save some $$$ and need your help. The build that I think of is COOLER MASTER Silencio 550 Black Mid-Tower Case, ATX, No PSU, Steel/Plastic GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3, LGA1155, Intel® Z68, DDR3-2133 32GB /4, PCIe x16 SLI CF /1+1*, SATA 3Gb/s RAID 5 /3, 6Gb/s /4, VGA+DVI+HDMI+DP, USB 3.0 /4, HDA, GbLAN, FW /2, ATX, Retail INTEL Core™ i7-2600 Quad-Core 3.4 - 3.8GHz TB, HD Graphics 2000, LGA1155, 8MB L3 Cache, 32nm, 95W, EM64T EIST HT VT-d VT-x XD, Retail CRUCIAL 64GB M4 SSD, MLC Marvell 88SS9174, 500/95 MB/s, 2.5-Inch, SATA 6 Gb/s, Retail SEAGATE 1TB Barracuda®, SATA 6 Gb/s, 7200 RPM, 64MB cache SONY AD-7280S Black 24x DVD±R/RW Dual-Layer Burner, SATA, OEM If so far it's look good the only thing that I will need your help is for the PSU,CPU COOLER AND THE RAM. I know that the Silencio 550 case limits the CPU cooler height to 154mm. Also I will need a good and quiet PSU but not expensive. And for the ram I would like the best value for the $$$... DDR3-1333 or DDR3-1600 Thanks |

Hi
Joseph
yes i left you a voicemail with my number after we talk for a 1-2 min and then you told me to call you back with the right configuration Code/number...ohh well..you maybe gut busy or something like that. anyway thanks for your reply !!! the cpu cooler that you recommended me are 158.5 mm height and on the COOLER MASTER website its said that the Silencio 550 max height are 154mm...do you think it will work somehow or i will need a different CPU cooler? about the ram i will need 16gb..not 8..and also i will prefer to buy one "in stock" and not "special order" the power supply look good and probably more then ok for me. last thing...do you think that the lower end GIGABYTE board will work fine for music or just stay with one i pick up...im wondering about the low end GIGABYTE Z68 Chipset Thanks |

Hello philip007,
Actually, there's about 7.3 inches of clearance for the CPU cooler so I think you're safe!
Though those sticks are listed as Special Order, they are readily available. You can purchase two of those kits to create a 16GB kit.
Sure, the Z68 chipset is great by itself so if you want to save some money and downgrade the board I feel that's perfectly alright.
Feel free to continue posting with any questions you may have!
