Hello dime5150,

I used the following configuration tool to create this setup.

Hi. I'm confused as i'm not sure how to build this. I can't find the power supply you have listed. Where do I start?

Hello dime5150,

I am happy to assist you further!

Here's the configuration I had in mind:

  • COMPUCASE HEC 6C28B Black Mid-Tower Case, No PSU, ATX
  • SILVERSTONE Strider Essential ST50F-ES Power Supply, 500W, 80 PLUS®, ATX12V 2.3 EPS12V, 1x 6-pin PCIe, 1x 8/6-pin PCIe, Retail
  • ASUS P8H61-M LE/CSM Rev 3.0, LGA1155, Intel® H61, DDR3-1333 16GB /2, PCIe x16, SATA 3 Gb/s /4, VGA+DVI, HDA, GbLAN, mATX, Retail
  • INTEL Core™ i3-2125 Dual-Core 3.3GHz, HD Graphics 3000, LGA1155, 3MB L3 Cache, 32nm, 65W, EM64T EIST HT VT-x XD, Retail
  • G SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) Ripjaws PC3-10600 DDR3 1333MHz CL7 (7-7-7-21) 1.5V SDRAM DIMM, Non-ECC
  • EVGA GeForce® GTX 550 Ti FPB 951MHz, 1GB GDDR5 4356MHz, PCIe x16 SLI, 2xDVI+mini-HDMI, Retail
  • SEAGATE 1TB Barracuda®, SATA 6 Gb/s, 7200 RPM, 64MB cache
  • SONY AD-7280S Black 24x DVD±R/RW Dual-Layer Burner, SATA, OEM
  • MICROSOFT Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition w/ SP1, OEM
  • WARRANTY Silver Warranty Package (3 Year Limited Parts, 3 Year Labor Warranty)
  • It's a bit over your budget, but only due to the power supply (very reliable, and the most quiet model we carry) and graphics card (able to handle your editing purposes, without cutting yourself short)

Feel free to post any quesiton you may have; I'll be happy to modify the configuration if you wish to change anything.

    Hi.

I'm pretty confused at what I should do. I'd like to keep the tower under 700 if possible.

I need it for basic work, photoshop/video editing. I'd like to be able to watch, view, and in the future maybe edit HD movies.

I'd like it to be quiet. My current rig is an older build my own from 2004 and it's very loud with the fans and such.

I just want it on par with maybe an imac or my relatively quiet VAIO laptop. I don't need SSD or anything to make it super whisper quiet though.

I'm not sure what to get as far as AMD, Intel etc. I do think i'd like a dedicated graphics card to improve performance there.

    Ideas? help please :)
