Notebook Review #10: AVADirect Clevo P270WM X79 Gaming Notebook Review April 17th, 2012 ![]() This is our tenth review with Notebookreview.com and it was one to remember. This time around, the our fellow Ohioans reviewed our new Clevo P270WM X79 Gaming Notebook. Since the release of the X7200 notebook, what this chassis was based off of, there have been many improvements to the design, functionality, and connectivity of the notebook. The P270WM now features a more sturdy keyboard layout, with backlight keys, and a comfortable touchpad. There P270WM features the new 600M series graphics card, combined with Intel's latest X79 chipset and Sandy Bridge-E processors. One of the most important improvements stems from the amount of USB 3.0 ports (three, with the exception of a shared eSATA port) and DVI, Display Port, and HDMI outputs. Notebookreview.com went on to exclaim how amazing the overall performances of the AVADirect Clevo P270WM was and began to express their delight to see many aesthetic imrpovement since the last X7200 design. Negatives included poor battery life, loss of contrast from vertical angles (who uses a notebook from a vertical angle anyway?) and "plain" design. Clevo notebooks have always been reviewed for their performance, not their design. Enthusiasts true to the core will always care most about bleeding-edge performance over a pretty shell and flashy lights. Besides, how will that matter when you have a fully immersed, high frame-rate gaming experience? It simply will not; flashy lights, a pretty shell, and extensive designs will do nothing to increase the performance of a product so why not cut the costs of including these extra to provide a cost-effective, desktop replacement? Clevo has done just that with their P270WM notebook, and we were right there to grab it while it's hot and serve it to those in need. We thank Notebookreview.com for once again delivering a superb review and look forward to their comments in future reviews. It's fair to say the AVADirect Clevo P270WM with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M graphics cards in SLI configuration delivers the best gaming experience of any notebook we've reviewed to date. - Jerry Jackson ![]() To configure your own X79 gaming notebook click Clevo P270WM X79 Gaming Notebook at AVADirect Edited by Jmundy - 17 Apr 2012 at 5:40pm |
