I am still not sure how to post pics on here, lol. I didn't have much time to tinker with it last night since it came so late and I had to be at work this morning. And the net doesn't get set up at home until Monday. So far it has just updated some Windows Updates, I managed to get MSE installed on it (managed to make a very weak contact with the neighbors net for a short time).

Hello BW85,

Glad to hear you got your system. I hope that everything went well in the shipping process. If you have any problems getting set up, please let us know.

As far as pictures, if you notice in the post tools, there should be an icon to upload pictures. Another way is to upload picture somewhere like tinypic or imageshack or maybe photobucket and link it directly.

Also, if you'd like, we do have a section titled community showroom that you can post pics of your rig in. We're also going be throwing pics of AVA employee systems there as well since Joe and I have had this idea for a while now.

Let me know if you run into any troubles making topics and posts with images. If so, we may need to adjust some permission settings on our end to make it work with users with adequate number of posts.

Thanks, Vedran. I am actually getting the internet hooked up Monday. 20mbps speed should be efficient enough for gaming and streaming Netflix, right? Not necessarily at the same time, though. Also, could you please be so kind as to post that SSD maintenance link you had again? I cannot seem to find it and want to make sure I get the most out of mine. Without a stable internet connection yet, there hasn't been a whole lot I have been able to do with my new machine. I have tinkered with some of the themes and whatnot. It is a very awesome computer, thanks again guys!

And also, this is my first time with Windows 7. Can you offer any first-hand experience tricks or neat features with it?

Hello BW85,

Very, very happy to hear you received the machine without any issues! We use a special, foam-molding machine that creates ESD compliant packing material. This allows us to create custom packaging solutions for our custom desktop configuration; quite schnazzy, if you ask me!

Vedran's How-to guide for SSDs is pretty straight forward, so you should have no issues following it to get the most out of your SSD. If you're looking for cool features in Windows 7, I like the fact that you can remove applications, that you will never use, to free up space on your SSD. You can do this by going into control panel > programs & features , then on the top-left there's an option to add/remove Windows programs. You can remove things like the Windows games, tablet services, etc...basically, things you will never use! Also, make sure you visit the power options and set the profile to "High Performance" to get the most out of your hardware.

There should be an option, in the forum toolbar, to upload a photo. If not, image shack is always handy.

Cool guys, thanks for the link Joe! The system is working beautifully. Comcast came yesterday and hooked up the net. I haven't really had time to do much else though. Hopefully this weekend!

I have been having trouble with the Sony Blu Ray player (BDP-S580) and the Cicso wireless route (e1200). When I connect the player to my access point, it connects just fine. The diagnosis checks out, and it shows I am connected. However when I try to do a firmware update or connect to Netflix, it suddenly times out as if it was never connected. But, there's a kicker. I can pick up a neighbor's signal, albeit much weaker than mine, but it can download the firmware update just fine and connect to Netflix. So, I took the DSN numbers from that connection, the DNS numbers of Google (8.8.8.8;8.8.4.4) to see if that would change anything, and nothing. So, that lead me to believe there is some sort of link error between the router and the DVD player. Any idea how I can remedy this?

Hello BW85,

You may have to change port settings in your Cisco wireless router so it does not have conflicted issues such as this. Try calling Cisco and have them walk you through doing so. Find out which port your Sony Blu Ray player operates best through, and then set your Cisco router to accept the signal from your blu ray player not matter what. I've had to do this with my PS3 previously, and once I set the ports in my router settings everything was fine.

Happy to hear the system is working beautifully! When you get some time, I'd love for you to post a review on a site we value customer opinions on. Let me know if you're up for it and I'll send you a PM.

Oh ok, do I change ports by going to the 192.168.1.1 site? And I'd love to write a review! Just PM me anytime!

Hello BW85,

That's the IP address, what you need to know is the port to open for your blu-ray player; should be four digits.

Other individuals are apparently have the same issues as you.

According to them, ports 8100-8199 (TCP) should be opened in your router. Your router should have a "port forwarding" option for you to specify specific port ranges to open for your devices.

If you need more assistance, just ask!

Hey guys, sorry, it has been CRAZY busy the past couple of weeks. But, alas, the issue was resolved! I just relocated the router and hooked the DVD player with a hard line, and just used the wireless signal with the PC. It is working beautifully! I can't stand the speed of work computers these days, thanks to that amazing SSD, lol. Hope all has been well on your guys' end! Have ya placed your order yet, Crypt?
