Pdwe,
Sometimes we do and sometimes we do not. Since we are a smaller company, it is very hard to get samples to review when larger review places always get first crack. Its more of who you know and what you can offer in return for that sample.

Looks like there's good news for Nvidia users, the X58 boards will support both SLI and Crossfire.

Max RAM should be interesting. The highest end boards for Nehalem will have triple channel RAM at first. Instead of pairs of sticks, there will be sets of 3.

I'm thinking that the first generation of the X58 chipset must support at least 12GB of RAM (6 x 2GB).

Oh yeah they are coming out with the 1166 x58 boards first. I wonder how much later the 1366 models will be available.

******** Update ********
Just to let everyone know, the Core i7 will feature self overclocking. Basically, if you own a quad-core chip, and you are using only a single thread, the CPU will shut down the other three cores. Then the processor will overclock that single core with the extra thermal headroom from the down cores.
The processor has been reported to overclock by two speed bins (3.0 GHz to 3.4 GHz). This feature is just like the DAT (Dynamic Acceleration Technology) currently found in the Penryn mobile processors. However, the boost was very minor due to the limited headroom of the mobile processor. A desktop version of this could prove to work very well. Penryn Features
How this will affect overclocking remains to be seen. This could be good news if Intel is saying that their processors will self overclock. This could mean that we now have more headroom then ever before. Enthusiasts could now see 40 - 50% overclocks on aircooling alone.
We will have more information when the Core i7 launch comes closer.

Thanks for the update, Matt. In the mean time I've found a link with up-to-date news related to the Nehalem architecture - also a good place to start reading about Nehalem: http://www.nehalemnews.com/ There are also informations and photos of the upcoming X58 Core i7 motherboards. |

As far as cost, memory for Nehalem will cost the same as does Core2 systems. However, Nehalem has a limitation of 1.65 V for memory. Thus all performance memory on the market is not suitable for Nehalem because they need 1.9V to run properly. That means that the initial memory on the market will be at 1066 MHz or 1333 MHz, not 1600 MHz and higher.
So far, Corsair and Mushkin have 3 DIMM kits out and are going to be selling these very soon.
