Overall,the 295 seems to equal the 4870 X2.But I've seen the X2's coming down in price,as low as $399,so they may still win in the price/performance area - at least until Nvidia follows suit.Gotta love real competition in the marketplace!

I don't think the GTX 295 will be around very long. The 40nm cards will be coming out within six months.

Six months is new developement cycle for NVidia and ATI. If a card has been out longer than six months without a refresh or update, then it is considered "old tech". Think about how long the 9800 GTX was out before the 9800 GTX+ or GTX 200 series came out..... about 6 or less months.

Yes, but the difference here is that they are moving to a smaller process in that time frame. nVidia is practically skipping the 55nm process, except for a couple of cards, while moving from 65nm to 40nm. |
