Clevo Releasing Core i7 Powered Notebook Fans of our Clevo line of notebooks will be all too familiar with the Clevo D901C. This monster of a notebook handles desktop quad-core CPUs, SLI with 9800M GTX GPUs, and 3x hard drives. That notebook has been the mobile performance king for about two years and Clevo aims to reclaim its crown with an even more powerful notebook. Known as the D900F, this monster of a notebook will sport a Core i7 desktop CPU, G280 GPU (GTX 280 related?), and 8GB of DDR3-1333 memory. The support for 3 HDDs will still be there, but support for SLI will no longer be available. This may be due to lack of power or heat issues with using these components. Below you can see the full list of specs. Do not mind the Eurocom branding, they are a reseller just like us of Clevo products. Expect to see AVADirect carrying this item sometime in May.

I'm confused about something... I thought all Core i7 required triple channel, for example 3GB, 6GB, etc. How can this only support two DIMM slots for 8GB max?

Core i7 does not require triple channel to run. In fact, you could run a single DIMM.

Wow, I learned something new
So what's the benefit of triple channel, then? |

More bandwidth. Each memory channel is only 64 bits wide which is only about 8500 MB/s MAX at 1066 MHz. More channels = more bandwidth :)
