Intel Core 2 Processor Overclocking and 8GB of Memory

While the Core 2 processor has been known to be a great overclocker, there are many other factors which determine how stable an overclock is which includes the motherboard.  Overclocking itself puts enough strain on the motherboard, but then fill up all four DIMMs with memory as well and the northbridge may not be able to handle that.  Overclocking with 8GB of memory has proved to be very unstable even with voltage and timing adjustments.

Please be aware we will still offer overclocking with 8GB of memory.  We just might not be able to reach an overclock as high as expected.  If you would like a higher overclock, dropping down to 4GB of memory will allow for a higher overclock.
