GTX 260 Finally Released and Available For Sale

The GTX 260 has been awaited for the past few months and especially the past few weeks.  Unlike the 9000 series of NVidia graphics cards, this is a completely new architecture instead of a refresh.  For the first time ever, a true 448-bit wide memory bus and 896 MB of GDDR3 memory is available which means you can game at very high screen resolutions without major performance hits.  Also, the GPU sports 280 stream processors, double which has been available for the past two video card series.

While the smaller brother of the GTX 280, this video card is still miles ahead of the last generation of video cards.  It features are just slightly underclocked or lowered to make a much better value card than the GTX 280, which is a video card with no limits.

Preliminary reports put this card at just under the perform of the older 9800 GX2.  What is great is that this card is being sold for hundreds less than the 9800 GX2 and it is a single GPU, so it does not suffer from the SLI effects as the GX2.  This card is capable of triple-SLI, and three of these cards will just boggle the mind.
