The MSI-1651 has been one of our best performing and selling 15" gaming notebooks for 2009. With a low starting price, mid-range mobile video card, and support for high-end mobile processors, how could one top an already great notebook? By upgrading the memory support to DDR3, expanding the CPU support to the newest mobile quad-cores, and upgrading the video card; MSI may have raised the bar yet again. For comparisons sake, let me go over the specs of the older and newer models.
Now most people would go and say that there is not much improvement in terms of gaming performance. However, you have to realize that the GTS 160M video card is actually a die shrink of the 9800M GTS, which was at one time one of the highest performing mobile video cards. With the doubling in GPU cores and GPU memory, gaming performance over the past 9600M GT video card has jumped at least 50%. Configure yourself one today by going to the system configurator page. |
