When I got this computer I used a 24 monitor it had no issues. So I tried a 42 in plasma tv with my SLI 280's. I found out that fonts were blurry so I went 30 in gateway monitor. Ever since I tried tv I get things like

HP upgrade screen for drivers is only a small box that can't be resized or anything. Then on cart on a website I buy from the shopping cart is cut in half. I tried it on other machines it is not cut off. I was wondering did that tv screw up my resolutrion somehow its only two things that do this. I'm at 2560 x 1600 or 1920 x 1200.

TV res was 1366x768

Only happens on XP

Hello,

Did you use HDMI or DVI to connect to the TV?  Are you using the same connection you used with the 24 inch monitor on the 30 inch?

Most likely Windows was adjusting the resolution and refresh rate to what your TV was compatible with.

Right click an empty part of your desktop and then left click Nvidia control panel.

Under display look under Change resolution.

Make sure under 1. a monitor is selected and then under 2. change your resolution to something like 800 x 600 then apply.  Check to see if everything looks normal (it will be a much bigger picture than you're used to).  If it does switch it back to the resolution of your liking.
Thank You

I just discovered the problem occurs with XP only. In Vista I get none of the cut offs or slow loading apps. So somehow XP got screwed up. I tried all resolutions and nothing so I guess it is an unfixable issue. Its ok not a major deal just a learning what can happen with computers.
