Compact PC for Agency Work and Games

My last AVA box is getting on in years (3.5 to be exact), so it's time to get a new one.

I don't keep up with hardware nowadays, so this is a shot in the dark (sort of). I really just need a small, fast box that I can use for a decent amount of graphic/video/dev -- and the occasional game.

Hello sola and welcome to the AVADirect forums!

This is a pretty decent build for someone who isn't keeping up with the current hardware :)

It all looks pretty good aside from few small things:

    - I definitely recommend changing the power supply. This is our default PSU purely for cost savings, but I highly recommend upgrading to something by Antec, Corsair or Cooler Master. For your setup, you will be fine between 500W-650W. Also, I recommend going with a modular PSU as it is going to help keep the cable mess to a minimum, which is very important in a small chassis like this one.

    - I would select Windows 8.1 instead of 8 as it is the most recent version and in this scenario, both are basically the same with few minor improvements in 8.1

The rest looks good. The VGA is powerful enough for games but not too powerful to create too much heat in this little case. The CPU is powerful, basically the best 1150 CPU you can have today so everything is good there. The GeminII is a small cooler but works great for its size. You also have more than enough RAM so no problems there.

Let us know if you have any other questions, I'll be more than happy to answer them!

    Kind regards,
    Guest
