Windows 8 for AVAdirect custom PCs?



Hi,
I'm thinking of ordering a custom PC primarily used for gaming, photography and general use.  Here is the build:

    • I guess my concern is with Windows 8 just around the corner; I've seen other custom PC manufacturers offering deals on upgrades to Windows 8 (or other perks, such as games that come with retail versions of graphics cards, etc).  Would AVAdirect be able to offer anything like this to sweeten the deal?

      Hello nuwildcat928 and welcome to AVAForums!
       
      Microsoft is offering a $15 upgrade to Windows 8, with the purchase of a system that contains Windows 7. We don't have any official perks, but I would be happy to provide you with a free game with your purchase. We receive free game coupons, from various manufacturers we do business with, so we can forward them to our customers. Our inventory always changes, so just follow up with us once you receive your order and we will let you know what we have at that time.
       
      I like your configuration, but have two recommendations based on your future plans for the PC.
       
      1. Unless you plan to add another graphics card in the future, you can save money  by reducing the power supply to a 650w model. Cooler Master is alright, but Corsair and Antec tend to be the most reliable based on what we have seen.
       
      2. If you fell a total of 32GB of RAM may be appropriate for your system in the future, upgrade to Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Home Premium 64-bit has a limitation of 16GB. If not, then sticking with the current operating system is just fine.
