Gigabyte Motherboard GA-MA790FX-DQ6 and Sapphire Radeon 3870 X2 Video Card

The Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DQ6 motherboard is capable of using one of the newer AMD Phenom processors.  However, it does not come from the factory that way.  It requires the most current bios update, bios update F5, to accept the AM2+ socket Phenom.  However, before we updated the bios on the motherboard, the 3870 X2 video card was working with the motherboard using a different processor.  So the motherboard will accept both processor and video card, it just will not work with both together at the same time with the new bios update.

We do not know if other brands like the ATI and Diamond 3870 X2 cards will fail with the same motherboard and bios update.  Please advise that we will still offer this combination, however until a new bios update supersedes the F5 revision, we cannot use Phenom processor and Sapphire Radeon 3870 X2 video card together.
