SATA-3 is the latest high speed interface in today's computer systems. The SATA-3 bay provides a high performance, "hot-swap" option for providing removable storage. Connection to standard SATA-1/2/3 ports is supported through a standard 7-pin data cable or combination 15/7 power/data combination cable. The bay can also be connected to e-SATA ports with an optional SATA to e-SATA cable. Power is also supported through a standard 4-pin Molex connector. At 6Gbps the data transfer rate (click here for more on data transfer rates) is one of the fastest and it is compatible with all new MediaPac cartridges.
