Anticipated Games Q1 2017

Gaming, General, Industry

2016 is quickly coming to an end and we’re sad to see it go! Fortunately, there’s a lot to look forward to in the first few months of 2017, including some really awesome PC games. Let’s check out why the first quarter of 2017 looks promising for PC gamers:

Mass Effect: Andromeda

Mass Effect: Andromeda

First Quarter 2017

The next installment of the Mass Effect series is finally coming to realization, but there’s no official release date just yet. The game begins 600 years prior to the third ME in a fresh new galaxy: Andromeda. The cool part about this game, unlike its predecessors, is that it doesn’t acknowledge your choice of ending from ME3. Gamers will be able to play as Ryder, either Male or Female (they are siblings). One major difference in this game is that you don’t pick a starting class. Instead, you pick certain skills and build towards a specialty. The game even includes multiplayer and mission-type games, along with a campaign.

Halo Wars 2

Halo Wars 2

February 21, 2017

Microsoft has passed the development buck to Creative Assemblies and 343 Industries for the creation of the second Halo Wars. This game is different from any of the other Halo installments because it’s a top-down, real-time strategy game, not first-person shooter. You’re charged with building an unstoppable force to beat the oncoming aliens. The game starts 28 years after the last Halo Wars with the same human crew as before, battling a brand new alien race, the Banished. There are 2 playable factions and you get to lead both to victory. This game will challenge Halo fans for sure, but it also offers promising entertainment for players across the board.

The eagerly anticipated sequel is here with even more horror packed action than before! In this survival game, you play as Ethan, a man who is searching for his missing wife in rural America. What’s different about this Resident Evil? This is the first of the main series to be played from a 1st person perspective. If that isn’t enough, it can also be played on a PlayStation VR headset. This installment has several connections to the previous games but features some new cast members, which makes it that much more enjoyable.

Tekken 7

Tekken 7

First Quarter 2017

One of the world’s most favorite fighting games has a new sequel and it’s even better than before. The 7th installment of Tekken is supposed to be the conclusion of the Mishima Bloodline, once and for all. The best part about the new Tekken is that it’s technologically different from all of the rest. For the first time ever it will be available on PC, along with Xbox One and PS4. In addition, it boasts a new engine (Unreal 4) to power gameplay. This arcade favorite features real-world fighting moves, and now special, powerful moves called Rage Arts, which pack even more of a punch. There’s no set release date in the US yet, but developers say it will be out within the first quarter of the new year.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands

March 7, 2017

The 10th installation of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon is almost here, and developers at Ubisoft are pumped for this one. It’s a classic, tactical third-person shooter, and in this recon, you’re riding across the desert in Bolivia. The story takes place in an alternate reality, where a corrupt government allows a Columbian drug cartel to move in and take over the country. Not only are you trying to take down the drug cartel, but it’s a two-front war because you’re also trying to fight the corrupted government militia as well. New to Wildlands, this installment is the very first with a fully-featured open world and the biggest map most players have ever seen. This game is going to be as BIG as the map and is sure to excite Ghost Recon fans, new and old.
