AVA Direct and its representatives wish to welcome everyone who visits or registers on this web forum. For the benefit of all, the following rules and policies are enforced for the entire forum. Sub forums may have their own specific rules which complement these rules as well.
If you find any posts or topics which break the rules, please notify a moderator or staff member as soon as possible.
General Policy:
AVA Direct web forums is a fun yet professional community of computer enthuists. Members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner. At no time may forum content become insulting, slanderous, derogatory, abusive, hateful, prejudice, illicit, or adult in nature.
Membership Policy:
One account per person - Multiple accounts to a single user will result in a permanant ban.
Represent yourself - Members representing themselves falsely as AVA Direct staff or hardware vendors is prohibited.
Picture Policy:
At the moment, we do not allow members to upload pictures and files to their accounts to be posted in our forums. We do not have the available web space to allow uploading at the moment. This may change in the future when we upgrade. At the moment, the following rules are in place until this changes.
Do not hotlink to pictures - Do not just copy and paste images from other websites on our forum. You are stealing that websites bandwidth. Please look below on websites that do allow for uploading and linking too.
Picture sizes - Please keep the picture size to a respectable limit. If a picture is over 50kb or bigger than 600x400, it will get deleted. Too big of pictures strains our servers and makes our pages longer to load for our users.
Uploading websites - Please use the following websites to upload pictures to use on our forum. If you have your own personal webspace, that also is allowed. Be warned as personal webspaces usually have transfer limits and will cause your personal website to go inactive or shutdown.
Posting Policy:
Please think before posting - Please keep posts which include only one or two words to the minimum. Posts with just "yes" or "no" or all smilies will be deleted.
Try not to run off topic - Please keep all posts relevant to the topic. If you wish to extend the conversation into a new subject, please start a new topic.
Create a consise subject - When making a new topic, create a short yet detailed explanation of the subject matter. Subject titles which are slang/cuss words or uninformative will be removed.
Search the forums before posting - Please search the forums before posting. Chances are that your questions has already been discussed or answered. Duplicate topics of the same subject will be locked.
Advertising and promotion is prohibited - Links which are used to promote an item non a**ociated with AVA Direct are prohibited. This includes all pay-to-click links, affiliate, or refferal links. Links which also link to another manufacturer's website are also prohibited.
Be constructive - If you have nothing to say about the topic, please do not post. All derogatory comments will be deleted.
No pointless posts - Posts that do not relate to computers or hardware are prohibited. Pointless posts will be removed at our discretion.
Signature Policy:
Text rules - No derogatory or slanderous content can be posted inside a user's signature. Text which is hard to read or not in English will be removed.
Image rules - Images which are obscene or inappropriate will be removed. The maximum image are may not exceed 500 * 300. Multiple pictures are only allowed if they stay within the maximum limit above.
Link rules - Signature links may not redirect to porn, illegal materials, and advertising sites.
Moderators and Staff
Moderators and staff of this forum reserve the right to modify, change, delete, move, or anything else deemed nessacary to posts/topic in this forum. They are able to do this without warning or consent of the user.
The Administrators and Moderators reserve the right to modify any or all forum rules and policies without prior notice. Administrators' and moderators' decisions are absolute and final. Do not dispute a decision publicly with members of staff. Any posts found to be disputing decisions made by staff members will be closed and/or removed.
What constitutes a violation is the sole discretion of the Administrators and Moderators, as is the judgement regarding any accompanying consequence for the violator. Violators may be warned, suspended, or banned, temporarily or permanently.
Privacy Policy
Your membership information is treated in the strictest of confidence and will not be sold or otherwise provided to any third party. AVA Direct may occasionally email or private message our members with announcements on the development of the forum and/or website. Users may opt out of the email newsletter if they please.
