AVADirect Adds ATI Radeon HD 7970 Graphics Cards
"AVADirect now offers ATI Radeon HD 7970 graphics cards. The ATI Radeon HD 7970 series was announced on December 22nd, 2011 as the new architecture for future graphics by AMD. Originally code-named "Tahiti", the new AMD GPU is known internally as the GCN (Graphics Core Next) gen GPU for future designs. The 7970 boasts all original features of its predecessor, but also includes a newly added function known as "Zerocore Power" which will reduce clocks of unused GPUs to conserve power and heat generation. The design of the 7970 is based off of a 3GB GDDR5, 384-bit memory bus that will deliver improved performance across the board, and has been documented to improve gaming between 12%-25% on average. AVADirect will continue to add ATI HD 7970 models, from various manufacturers, as they are released."

AVADirect Now Offers X79 Compact Gaming & SFF Workstation Configurations
"AVADirect recently added two new configurations with the ability to customize each individual component: The Compact Gaming PC Core™ i7 X79 SLI® / CrossFireX™ Compact Gaming Computer System & Workstation PC Six-Core Core i7 X79 SFF Computer Workstation configurators. Each configuration is designed for those that require a large amount of computing power in environments that have little space. Based on the X79 chipset, both configurations will provide all of the same customizations most of our configurators offer, however the case selection has been pre-selected to provide only those that will qualify the system as compact or small form-factor. What truly causes one to consider these configurations is the fact that most high-end graphics cards will fit within the small amount of space and have plenty of airflow the keep temperatures at bay. We will continue to update these configurations as new hardware is released, for those hardware junkies that wish to receive the latest and greatest the IT industry has to"

AVADirect Now Offers Quick Ship Gaming Notebooks
"AVADirect has offered Clevo notebooks since the company started in 2003. Clevo is a custom notebook barebone manufacturer known for their ability to provide custom high-end notebooks that include mobile graphics cards aimed toward gamers, enthusiasts, and engineers. Previously, AVADirect would use Clevo notebook barebones to create custom solutions by implementing name-brand parts to create a high quality product with AVADirect's craftsmanship as the end result. Customers who decide to choose Quick Ship Gaming Notebooks will not have the ability to choose specific brands of hardware, but will have several choices to choose from, still providing custom solutions AVADirect has made it's name for. Those who decide to take advantage of Quick Ship Gaming Notebooks will most likely care less about specific brand name parts and more about the usual 10-14 business day time frame that AVADirect requires for all custom solutions."

AVADirect Introduces Desktops Featuring Intel's X79 Chipset
"AVADirect announces newly added desktop systems featuring the new X79 chipset by Intel. These 2nd generation "E" series processors are built on a new LGA 2011 socket, different from the previous 32nm die sized Sandy Bridge processor. Though the specifications are familiar, they are an entirely new concept compared to what has been done by Intel in the past. Key features are still retained, including Hyper-Threading and Turbo Boost, but the overclocking threshold is higher. These Sandy Bridge-E processors are considered the workstation class processors of their kind."

AVADirect Introduces Desktops Featuring AMD Bulldozer Processors
"AVADirect announces newly added desktops featuring the new Bulldozer architecture by AMD. The Bulldozer processors feature six to eight cores and coexist with AMD FM1 and AM3+ chipsets to drive HD quality visuals along with multi-monitor gaming using ATI graphics card eyefinity technology. Increased cores will provide end-users with increased mutli-tasking, and the ability to handle stress-oriented processes that previous generation chips could not handle. The Bulldozer architecture is said to be the direct response to Intel’s Sandy Bridge architecture, even after four years in development. Before launch, AMD set a world record by overclocking their FX series processor to 8Ghz using liquid hydrogen. The demonstration was not meant to point end-users in a specific direction of cooling methods, but to showcase the Bulldozers ability to overclock to new limits set by AMD."

SandForce Identifies Firmware Bug Causing BSOD Issue, Fix Available Today
"After months of end user complaints, SandForce has finally duplicated, verified and provided a fix for the infamous BSOD/disconnect issue that affected SF-2200 based SSDs. The root cause is a bug in the firmware, although specifics are pretty slim. The typically sparse release notes just state a rare condition resulting in a blue screen error has now been addressed. OCZ has been testing the fix in-house for the past three weeks and now believes it is fit for public release. SandForce is simultaneously releasing the firmware to its partners, so if you have non-OCZ drives you should contact your drive manufacturer for an availability update."

AVADirect Now Offers Supermicro 8-Node MicroCloud™ Server System
"AVADirect has added the first 8-Node system to the website, for your customizing pleasure. This server is based off of the H2 1155 socket. The motherboard features two native SATA ports to utilize the two SATA hot-swap bays, but a PCIe 8x slot is accessible to include a dedicated RAID controller to keep redundancy and performance in check. Two integrated LAN ports make this the ideal solution for hosting, and an IPMI give you remote access to manage as you please. You can expect standard video output, thanks to the Matric chip, and you won't see anything like USB 3.0, firewire, or eSATA. This configuration is ideal for those who have a server farm taking up a lot of space and would like to replace it with a solution that is cost effective, energy conserving, and a replacement for all those noisy server systems dedicated for a specific purpose."
