The Corsair Obsidian 900D Case is a beast, and with that said, our Custom Workstation Configurations rely heavily on its features. Supporting HPTX boards, it practically makes itself the only solution for our Custom Workstation builds. The ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS motherboard shares a similar, proprietary characteristic. The ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS offers so many expansion slots, and sufficient rear-panel ports, that it’s difficult to consider a different board – Certainly not a bad thing, as we highly recommend ASUS solutions to begin with! Two Intel Xeon E5-2690 V2 Ten-core processors make this Custom Workstation a powerhouse of CPU compute power! Any applications that take advantage of multiple, physical CPUs will certainly not be starved for power! The Crucial 64GB (8 x 8GB) ECC Registered memory kit offers superb resource, between both processors, and error correction for those worried about dealing with possible errors. Yes, there’s a performance hit, but it’s a give and take situation for these workstations, in which most benefit from. It’s quite apparent that this Custom Workstation was designed for graphics processing, primarily. A single NVIDIA Quadro 600 will provide the display, while two NVIDIA Tesla K20s handle raw compute processes.
