Our custom workstation configurations are perfect for those who intended to use the hardware they hand select for some serious number crunching, or graphic rendering. This particular end-user chose to house all of his hardware in a Lian-Li Armorsuit chassis, which offers great cooling and heavy-duty reinforcement. Backed by two Intel Xeon E5520 processors, cooled with Thermalright Ultra-120 heatsinks, the Supermicro motherboard boasts a high range of functionality due to the amount of expansion slots and back panel ports. The ATI 5970 graphics card flexes some of the best performance benchmarks for gaming, but it is certainly not limited considering it can also prove quote useful for rendering applications as well. 16GB of Crucial RAM will be used efficiently, and adding two 300GB SAS drives in RAID 0 will make read/write times sky rocket to unbelievable amounts creating an extremely responsive system overall. The Sony dual-layer optical drive will perform quietly, and fulfill the standard of most systems with burning capabilities. The 850W power supply will provide the customer with plenty of power, but will limit them to future upgrades. They also decided to add a creative sound blaster card for better sound quality, and 3Ware Molex cables for easy management for the SAS drives. Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit will create the best experience overall, and with software like Office Professional 2007. And Norton Antivirus 2010 will ensure a great relationship between this massive workstation and it's creator.
