The NZXT, Phantom Red Full Tower Case was a great choice to allow future expansion and adequate airflow for the X79-based system. The INTEL, Core i7-3820 Quad-Core processor puts out quite a bit of heat under load, so it was a smart move to upgrade to the COOLER MASTER, Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler. In terms of performance, the KINGSTON, 16GB (4 x 4GB) XMP HyperX Genesis RAM kit will allow many applications to be used at once, without a hiccup in the process. EVGA, GeForce® GTX 550 Ti 900MHz, 2GB graphics cards have become more popular in systems such as this. They provide excellent, smooth performance in gaming and also assist those with the use of applications such as Photoshop or light AutoCAD work for real-time renders. Perhaps the most important aspect of this system is the INTEL, 120GB 520 Series SSD. Without a solid state disk, the custom desktop PC featured in this showroom would be greatly held back by hard disk read/write times. This configuration is the perfect example of how to properly balance performance in a custom desktop PC and ensure you receive the most out of your computer’s hardware capabilities.
