AVADirect has been providing Shuttle computers ever since we opened our doors to the public. Shuttle computers are great way to obtain a all-in-one system for a specific solution, whether it be small or large. This customer kept things simple by choosing modest hardware to run Windows XP. The AMD Semperon 2.7Ghz processor may not be the fastest out there but it will run XP and serve any day to day tasks very well. 2GB of DDR2 RAM at 800Mhz may not seem like a lot, but if you add in an Intel 40GB SSD you have matched performance and nothing says better than “bang for your buck” then well balanced components within a system. Even though it seems like there may not be a lot to this system there is still beauty in simplicity. Simplicity in the fact that there is little needed to complete this system, but the performance will offer more than most AMD systems that are twice the size and pack more components. In this particular case (no pun intended) the solid state disk makes a world of a difference for this computer. I’m sure the customer was well aware of this, otherwise he would have chose a hard disk drive, and this is one of the many reasons why we offer so many different options. If we would have limited the customer to specific hard, like our competitors, you can imagine what it would have limited this system to. That old saying “the sky is the limit” applies here and we certainly don’t want our customers to feel the sky is even considered a limit; every idea for a configuration is considered, and we do our best to provide this service to our customers.
